In Inuktitut, the language of theInuit people, "Inuit" means "the people". There are many variationsof Inuktitut that vary from region to region, however the root of thelanguage is constant.

Inuktitut is very complex and structured very differently than whatmost western civilizations are used to. Words are very long and oftenfeature "swallowed" consonants. Unlike other languages that stringsmall words together to make meaning, Inuktitut uses intricate pieceslocked together to produce an entire meaning. The study of the Inuitlanguage is difficult since there is very little research conductedon this particular topic.

Inuktitut Language Symbols

Resources Used

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inuit_languages

Home -Religion -Language -Business Communication
Environment -Family Life -Social NormsInteresting Facts
Website Design Copyright © 2006, Ira W.
