Dreams

Well, I had a couple of strange dreams last night. Both were really strange, and I don’t know where they came from, but here they are.

The first one was about bone surgery on someone I knew (or rather, the sister of someone I know, but I can’t remember who. The only thing I remember is that she was Indian (from India) or something similar. Sorry, I don’t know the politically-correct term for that). But anyway, I knew who it was, and I was helping a friend. So as it turns out, both me and my friend were in the operating room helping. It was all very interesting. So I helped out the surgeon, and it was for the best. We were doing some sort of surgery on the sternum, but I don’t remember much more than that. It did involve cutting the sternum in half, at least. Of course, I don’t know how it ended, since my mind has gone blank about the ending.

The second one was about alligators. There was some problem with alligators. All these people (me included) were fishing from the top of a tall bridge. Something happened, and we out to get these alligators. So we were fishing for them. It ended up that I caught one of them, and we were trying to kill it without bringing it onto the bridge, since that would be dangerous. So someone tried to shoot it with a laser gun. It broke off the line at this point, and so this guy jumped off and fell with it into the water. This was a “slow-mo” sequence, matrix style. The guns shot different color beams, and the targeting thing was reminiscent of the “blue boxes” targeting thing from the Gantz anime. Somehow, at this point I am mentally following this guy, even though I am sure it was not me who jumped off. So the alligator and I get into this long, drawn-out battle. The alligator seemed very intelligent, almost human. It knew that the guns did not work under water. I don’t remember how this one ends either, but I do remember going into some very fast rapids near the end.

Now, what is really interesting about these dreams is not the strange stories (which are somewhat interesting, and I really wonder where they came from, and how they are reflecting my personal life) but the fact that I did not die. This is a very strange occurrance. I almost always die in my dreams. (By this, I mean I completely die, and get to watch over myself as a “spirit” or something similar, sometimes it is also from another person’s point of view) So I’m curious why I didn’t die this time, since there were definitely ample opportunities, especially in the alligator dream.

On another note, I’m happy to be getting paid today without working! Yay for holidays!
