Asterisk Rocks

Well, the past few days I’ve been procrastinating on updating my resume, and doing other things that I should be doing. I’ve been learning the Asterisk Open-Source PBX! I’ve had quite a bit of fun doing it, too.

So now I can make calls from my computer via VoIP (both SIP and IAX) as well as to the regular PSTN via a VoIP termination service. Which basically means I can call you, but you can’t call me back (over VoIP). You can call my regular house number or my cell phone, of course, but then you won’t get into my Asterisk system at all.

If you want to talk to me over Free World Dialup, you can surely do so. Just call 822618, once you’re on FWD. You’ll get my voice prompts, but you can dial 100 for me, 101 for my dad (who’s never on, ever) or echo for the echo tester.

If I’m around, I’ll definitely answer. Heck, if you want me to call you over VoIP just to see how it sounds, I’ll be happy to do so also.

And if anyone wants to pay me to implement a very kick-ass phone system (Individual extensions, music on hold, voicemail, call transfer, conference calls, and much MUCH more) then I’d be happy to do it. I work pretty cheap, too.

Backpacking Again

Me and my brother went backpacking again, recently. We took the Mt. Zion Loop, aka the Big Santa Anita Loop.

It was fairly cold, mostly because the sun wasn’t out very often. No snow like last time. Overall, a nice easy hike, splitting about 10 miles across two days.

I’ve put the photos in my photo gallery. If you’d like to see.

Development Page

I’ve put up a nice development page here on my webspace. It’s got links to the major projects that I’m a part of.
